| Description : | Texas hypno-noise rock outfit Autodidact has been exploring the boundaries of guitar sound since January of 1995. The product of one man and a massed army of guitars forced through miles of effects, Autodidact's sonic roots are in the stacked guitar drones of the Band of Susans, the harmonic thunder of Breaking Circus, the subterranean noise terrain of Pain Teens and Skullflower, and the varied textures of Swans in all their guises. The result on this first CD (after years of cassette-only releases) is a series of hypnotic, minimalist/maximalist songs of a highly trancelike nature.All but one of the songs on this debut CD were originally recorded in far different form on early cassette releases. | |
