| Description : | Using all acoustic instruments and the line-up of the classic, piano-less, 'modern jazz' quartet (trumpet, sax, double bass, drums) plus vocals from leader/bassist Ellen Andrea Wang, Pixel combine the sounds of modern jazz with the energy and attitude of rock musicians performing catchy, indie-pop songs, delivered in a youthful and welcoming manner. This is definitely jazz, but it's jazz that rock and pop audiences can relate to, and it has huge cross-over potential. There are other jazz bands who do 'cross-over' music, but whenever they do, they pick up electric instruments, drum machines, synthesizers, etc. No other group is doing it all acoustically with a traditional jazz line up, which makes Pixel's 'jazz-into-pop' music unique and impressive. The group has played major festivals and events all over Scandinavia, England and western Europe, and received huge press attention in Europe.
