| Description : | Have you ever heard of a river with legal rights? Of the tree that owns itself? Of the Embassy of the North Sea and of the parliament of things? They are all real, the Whanganui river in New Zealand has legal rights and has to be treated like a 'human' being and you can find the tree that owns itself in Athens, Georgia, USA.
These are examples of 'agency' but not as we know it. Trees, rivers, mountains and other animals act too, and seeing them in relation to each other and to humans might provide us a whole new idea of responsibility. It's time to open the doors of our decision making institutes for animals and plants and get them a seat in our parliaments and that is what this new Zea 7in is about. | |
