| DESCRIPTION |
| | MINEFIELD Decomposition: Reinventing Label : Geska Records Year : 2004 Format : CD Style : Electropop / Ambient Availability : In stock
Price : 13.50 € - BUY
| | | | | Description : | Minefield is not an Industrial-Goth band despite the name. Tamara Kent leads the group and writes the songs. The music is dark and elegant, simplistic in form, and relies on the surprisingly deep character of Kent's voice to merge with lyrics that are reminiscent of a carefully-constructed, personal diary. Tamara's voice is very expressive and gets the listener to feel what is sang. She has forged a sound that crosses a mystical Enya-like traditional vibe with modern influences resembling Dido or Tori Amos, both acclaimed artists exploring a unique side of music.
Minefield is simply a delicate and eerie music that could be categorized as ambient electro-pop. A sonic experience fans of Kate Bush, Portishead, Bjork, Sigur Ros, Depeche Mode and Tori Amos would enjoy!
The fact that "Decomposition: Reinventing Minefield" contains a wide variety of interpretations of the After the Ball self-released EP is great. There's dark ambience, industrial grooves as well as trip-hop beats. All these remixes make up for what is entitled "Decomposition", an album that blends Tamara's charismatic and ethereal singing style with ambient, dark and techno music, in search for a perfect balance of relaxation and dancefloor-friendly material. An out of the ordinary electronic album that potentially could please thousands of people around the world with its lush synth pads, its hammering beats, its electronic sequencing, its distant and floating vocal parts and its Amos/Bush/Enya-like vocal qualities.
MINEFIELD now shares erotic ambient twilight dancing across the electro horizon with Karl Mohr, Blue Mars, Dead Poets Society, Ingrown, Soviet Radio, Cryptomnesia, Synthetic Dream Foundation, Spectre VII, and Soy Futura. Each artist now infusing elements specifically targeting the needs of music enthusiasts thirsty for intoxicating new dance floor vibrations. All remixes are interpretations of Material found on the Minefield EP 'After the Ball' (2001) Masterized by Karl Mohr
