| DESCRIPTION |

  | | OSBORNE, MIKE Dawn Label : Cuneiform Records Year : 2015 Format : CD Style : Jazz Availability : In stock
  Price : 14.70 € - BUY
  | | | | | Description : | Mike Osborne was one of the greatest jazz players to emerge from the UK in the late 1960s. He played with a large number of the 'Brit-jazz' stars of the period (Mike Westbrook Orchestra, Brotherhood of Breath, John Surman) and had a lengthy career throughout the 1970s, before mental illness led to his forced retirement from all playing and recording at the beginning of the 80s.
Dawn features well over one hour of all previously unreleased material, all of it in excellent sound quality.
It includes two 1970 sessions by his long-running trio with Harry Miller and Louis Moholo (both also of Brotherhood of Breath), which mark the earliest recordings ever released by the trio, as well as the release of his earliest recordings, from 1966, by a quartet featuring co-leader John Surman.
Also featured in the package are rare, never-seen photos and in-depth liner notes.
